We were walking down the street, checkout out the bikes and people watching.
As usual there were nice bikes and nice folks to commune with. After a
little more shopping and walking we decided to head over to San Juan Bautista to
catch a bite to eat.
We
stopped in at JJ's Burgers for lunch. Business was brisk. We sipped iced tea and
chatted with some of the other riders there for a while. We spent some time
checking out our new friend Bob's shovelhead and swapping stories. After that we decided to
ride back towards Casa de Fruta.
We found a vendor there so we went through
their stuff for a while. I picked up a couple of patches for my vest and then we
had an interesting chat with a rider who had inherited a Road King trike from his
father. From there we rode over the Pacheco pass to Santa Nella for a cup of
java.
At the Starbucks in Santa Nella I ran into a friend whose cage had decided it was done for the day
in the parking lot and said hi. Along about sunset we decided to ride for home.
The bugs were pretty thick across the wetlands so we had to stop to don our
facial protection. All in all it was a great ride and a great day.
I had thought
about riding back down on Tuesday but my sweet Sally was still under the weather
so that will have to wait for next year. Until then I wish you all a safe
ride...
